Tore apart a beat up night stand and found this beautiful piece of hardwood.
Very dense. Even the chips were very hard.
Beautiful piece.

Full facemask with the big filters when I am in the shop. I like breathing.

Look closely at the cut end of the board. If the open pores are filled with a frothy, crystalline substance called tyloses, it is definitively white oak. If the pores are completely hollow and round like tiny straws, it is red oak. The second piece is hard to tell, could be Mexican rosewood

End grain is tight.

White oak? Can you easily market it with a thumbnail? If it's hard to mark then perhaps something like oalk

I have oak. Very different grain and color.
OregonComputerGuy
There are different varieties of oak, is there a shop that sells exotic wood in your area? Try taking it to them
